Our Story

From Ireland to the leading edge.

We are part of ABP Food Group, founded in Ireland in 1954. Ireland’s rural culture of cattle-rearing is deeply embedded in our business, guiding our innate knowledge of animal husbandry, the land and the environment. This informs the many ways we innovate today, placing us at the leading edge of the industry.

In our relentless pursuit of perfection we are always moving forward, driving positive change while raising the profile of Irish beef. Welcome to ABP.

Going above and beyond.

We don’t believe in half measures at ABP. We consistently think ahead, seeing beyond the obvious so we can be ready for anything. Everything we do is underpinned by a fierce commitment to our people, our customers and our consumers around the world.

Supporting the livelihood of rural communities.

Rural communities are the beating heart of our business, with ABP Food Group’s operations spanning Ireland, Poland and the UK. We cultivate enduring partnerships with family farms across Ireland and provide opportunities that enable people to live and work in their local area. These communities are a quintessential part of Irish culture and we’re proud to play a part in keeping them vibrant and thriving.

Animal welfare is paramount.

We believe that every individual animal matters. That’s why we consult leading animal welfare experts, ensuring we create an environment for our cattle where stress is kept to an absolute minimum. At every stage, we set the industry benchmark.

A sustainable future. We’re on it.

We started our drive to sustainability decades ago. As a founding member of Origin Green, ABP was the first food processor in the world to receive quadruple accreditation by the Carbon Trust. Today, all our processing sites in Ireland are powered by wind energy. We continue to set ambitious goals for our business, firmly aligned with the Science Based Targets Initiative and the Paris Climate Accord.
