Our beef comes from cattle that graze at the world’s optimum latitude for natural pasture production: 53 degrees north. The terrain, landscape and climate of this precise geography creates an extended grazing season, allowing our animals to live outdoors and feed on grass for the majority of the year. This results in outstanding beef, offering superior taste and nutrition in the eating.
But the quality isn’t just down to the latitude of the grazing – but our rearing and processing too. We have long-term partnerships with family farms and have consulted with renowned animal welfare expert, Temple Grandin, in the design of our facilities and procedures, which ensures our livestock are relaxed and calm prior to slaughter. In addition to the high quality of cattle and animal welfare, our beef also benefits from our award-winning, patented Ultra-Tender® process. This unique hanging and chilling process is scientifically proven to increase the tenderness, consistency and eating quality of beef.
We also take every care to maximise our sustainability credentials. It’s at the heart of our business, and all of our processing sites in Ireland are now powered by wind energy. That’s why we were a founding member of Origin Green and the first food processor in the world to receive quadruple accreditation by the Carbon Trust.
